1. The website..

1.1 Introduction
Strangest Tribe is a fan website run by Amy McNamara aka "neenerbean". It is not an official website by any means. You can visit Stone's official website by going here: www.stonegossard.com. It hasn't been updated in over two years though!

1.2 Why the name change?
I renamed the site to "Strangest Tribe" because I felt it embodied the Stone Gossard fanbase. I wanted the site to be a bit more serious, while still holding onto it's "tongue-in-cheek" roots that we all know and love. The name "Stoney G. Fan Club" started out as a joke and I feel that that era of the site is over and it's time to get down to business. I *may* reactivate the unofficial fan club eventually, though - so stay tuned!

1.3 Using content on another site
I am the first person guilty of "borrowing" content from other sites. My philosophy has always been that if you borrow something, be sure to give credit & a link back to the original site. One thing that's kinda iffy with me is the photo gallery. Some of those pics were taken by fans and submitted exclusively to this site. If you'd like to use any of the pics on my site (that aren't readily available elsewhere) - for anything from websites to buddy icons, avatars, etc - please email me first.

1.4 Origins
Strangest Tribe (formerly The Stoney G. Fan Club) started out as a joke on the Synergy message board. A few of us girls (namely Andrea aka StoneyGirl and Lauri aka shoedriver) were fawning over Stone and decided that he was HIGHLY underrated and needed his own fan club. Within weeks we had over 100 members and on July 20, 2001 (Stone's 35th birthday) we launched the website. I have been the webmaster ever since. Now I'm the only one keeping the flame alive (and damn proud of it)! Strangest Tribe is one of the very few remaining Stone Gossard fan websites.

1.5 Site credits
I (Amy McNamara) am the one and only maintainer of this website. Along the way though, we've had lots of help. Click here for our "thanks" page.

2. Personal stuff..

2.1 What is Stone's REAL name?
"Stone" IS his real name! There are rumors that his real name is "Larry" which began on one of the earlier Ten Club newsletters. But don't be deceived - STONE is Stone's real name :)

2.2 What's Stone's middle name?
Much confusion has been caused trying to figure out this question. It was finally answered in an issue of the official Pearl Jam "Rumor Pit" - it's Carpenter.

2.3 Does Stone have a girlfriend?
Here is an example of the type of question we prefer not to answer, or be asked in the first place. It may come up on our message board and I just wanted to address it here. We will delete any posts of this nature.

2.4 Where does Stone live?
I wouldn't know. Washington state maybe? :)

3. Me..

3.1 Have you ever met Stone?
Yes I have. I met him in June of 2002 and October of 2003. He was very kind and even took a picture with me.

3.2 What does he think of the site?
The first time I told him about it, he asked if he had approved it (jokingly). I said, "No, it's unofficial!" and he laughed. The second time my friend introduced me as being the one who runs this site and he looked baffled. I explained again what the site was and said, "But it hasn't been updated in a while," and he laughed and said, "Have you seen mine lately?!" It's all in good fun, and I think Stone appreciates that someone is running this site :)

3.3 Moving to Seattle
Some people think I moved to Seattle to be near Stone and/or Pearl Jam. That is very far from the truth. I didn't like the weather in Chicago (gets too cold here!!) and I fell in love with Seattle the first time I visited there. I still miss living there. I miss downtown Seattle (much better than downtown Chicago, IMHO), I miss the scenery, I miss the local bands and clubs/bars, I miss my friends!! When I lived in Seattle, I never "went looking" for Stone or anyone else for that matter. I just kinda stumbled upon them :P Not a lot of people think that stuff anymore, but a few did back in the day and I just wanted to clear that up here.

Now that I'm back in Chicago, I'm going to stalk Billy Corgan LMFAO
