lukin96 - Stone in SVT
The following is a post from the official Stone Gossard Message Board.
The links on everyone's usernames probably won't work. So don't try clicking
them. I just thought it looked pretty and besides, it was easier to leave
'em like they were.
No Stoney Ponies were harmed in the making of this ramble ;)

stone in svt |
|
is it me, or does stone look like he's having a hard time
punching the clock in the beginning? you know, like it requires
all his strength to push the button. doesn't he actually lift
his arm a bit, like he's trying to put all his weight into
it?
Stone: uuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnnn--uhh. phew, that took
a lot out of me. i better get mike to help me when i punch
out.
not to say he's a weakling. i'm sure he's in shape. but just
watch that part and tell me if you see it too. i think he's
even got a grimmace on his face too. now i have to go watch
it again.

Re: stone in svt |

You might be right about that lukin. But I think that's mostly
cause Stone has never had a job, right? haha, he wouldn't
know a time-card for clock-punching from a setlist. :P ha
I remember reading some interview or something where the interviewer
said that Stone talked w/ the clipped speaking pattern of
an athlete--you know how they do. He may not be out of shape--but
that doesn't mean he's not soft. ;) j/k

Re: stone in svt |

ok, i just watched it again. (i fell asleep before i could
watch it last night.) and HE DOES grimmace and kinda lift
his arm.
on a side note, the original post is a product of being stoned
and having many thoughts pass through my noggin. i didn't
mean to offend or put down stone at all. he's still the coolest.
it was just an observation i had made.

Re: stone in svt |

I wish I had this "svt" you speak of. I'd like to see what
you're talking about! Maybe instead of being a pseudo-weakling
he was being like how many of us are when we have to clock
in. Like, "oh my God, this is last place I want to be in,
I hate this job, this is stupid - STAMP". But wait, what was
he clocking in for? What's this "job" he has that he needs
to be on a pay roll?

Re: stone in svt |

svt=single video theory. and he was clocking in to rehearse.
i don't think he'd be thinking "ugh, time to work." but i
could be wrong.

Re: stone in svt |

Well, maybe he is kind of a weakling then. Your description
of him was pretty hilarious. Maybe he's just always like that
when it comes to any degree of menial labor? Maybe this is
why he's so skinny? You know, it could take a lot out of guy
when he needs to push down on the toaster knob or click open
the microwave door. (We would really be on his bad side if
he ever came here and read any of this!)

Re: stone in svt |

stone's
the man. i really don't think it was tough for him to push
the button down, it just looked that way. the man helped build
houses earlier this year so he's gotta be able to do some
heavy lifting. granted, they were straw houses, but straw
can get heavy and i'm sure they used other kinds of material
that's heavier than straw.

Re: stone in svt |

No, wait... they *seriously* are building houses out of straw?
Somebody said that in another post and I thought they were
joking, but here you went and said it too. It must be true.
Straw? Really?
Stone builds straw houses.

hey
i always notice that when I watch it, and I always laugh out
loud at it. He really does look like he's putting in effort,
I never thought he was weak, I always thought he was trying
to punch the card harder than the other guys to show off.
