Zee Blue - Sighs

I would just like to state for the record that my entire favorite spot on the Bayleaf album is when Stoney sighs in the title song. And speaking of sighing...

Long ago and far away in another galaxy:

I like Green River a lot but I never got to see them live and so I wouldn't have been able to recognize any of them by sight except that the first time I saw Mother Love Bone play someone helpfully pointed out to me that Stoney and Jeff were in Green River. Well. I liked MLB a lot and I'd go see them and even beyond that I'd see them around because they were apparently into a lot of the same bands as I was. Now, mind you, I really only did have a brief and fleeting crush on Stoney but I always did think he was good-looking and nearly every other girl I knew who knew who he was thought so also. One of my friends and I once idly pondered the question: Does Stoney know how good looking he is?

So one night down at The Central I was standing up at the bar next to two other girls who didn't appear to know one another; we were all in line waiting for the bartender to get to us.

In comes Stoney, looking particularly fine in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and his hair all long and beautiful and as he walked past where we were standing, all three of us girls sighed.

Out loud.

Stoney paused for a moment, smiled just the sweetest smile, and then walked on. You could tell he was pleased without being all arrogant about it.

"Oh yeah," I thought (when I could think again), "he knows he's good looking."

He was really cool, though; I mean, every other guy in his situation would have been SO stuck on himself but he just smiled that sweet little smile...
