reviewsCosmoPuke - Stone says "Hi"I took the last couple of three days off, so I haven't been able to post... Anyway, I went to the Brad shows at the Viper Room and the Troubadour this week. If you ever get a chance to check them out... do it. They really rocked. It was nice to see them play the 200 capacity Viper Room. I met Purple Rhino a couple of hours before the doors opened. We were 5ifth in line, behind the hardcore Brad fans. We ended up on right in front of Shawn. Stone's side was reserved for the guiter techs and access to the stage. The stage there is tiny and Brad came on first (probably because it takes them longer to set up). They did a 10 song set. After the show, I was able to say "Hi" to Stone and let him know that I admire and appreciate his work. He shook my hand and said thanx and "Hi" to Purple Rhino. It was pretty cool. Oh, and I said "Hey." to Pete Sampras, too. The next day, I got to the Troubadour at about 6:00 to save a spot in line. I was about 10 people back and met up with SighEternally and DaMescin... ChewDawg had to work late, so she couldn't make it... bummer. Purple Rhino and her boyfriend showed up later, but there wasn't room by the stage for them. But that's okay, they got a pretty good spot. I saw Stone and some gal heading down the street to Dan Tana's for some grub and Shawn, Thad, Mike and Regan came out to shake hands and say hello to us. I asked Shawn if he got plenty of rest the night before so he could go out and kick my ass all over again. He said, "Yeah." I wanted to say hello to Elizabeth because she is really, reallty cute. We also saw Mike McCready in the audience there, too. We got a choice spot right in front of Stone... about 5ive feet from him. It was really cool to see him work from so close up. His rigging was about a foot from the front of the stage, so every time he made a switch, he was right there. This set was much longer and more rockin' than the Viper Room. Stone said they were having a lot of fun and thanked us for showing up. I got a copul of pictures... I hope they turn out. After the show, I was able to let Thad know that I appreciated them for coming to Los Angeles and giving me this opportunity to see them. He was really cool. I wished him a Merry Christmas before I left. Now, I'm a total Brad novice here so I can't tell you what songs they played, but I am definately going to get their CDs. The songs were great and that band is really talented. They were all really nice, too. They came out to say Hi to everyone waiting in the line. Shawn is amazing. Elizabeth was kicking ass on the percussion. Thad is the coolest dude. Mike was a nice guy. Regan almost got runned over crossing Santa Monica . And Stone is... well, he's Stone... and he looks pretty cool with his longer hair... but it looks like it's at that stage where it's too short to stay behind his ear, but long enough to hang down in his eyes. Give another 2 weeks, and it'll be the right length. So, all in all, I had yet, another fun time. |
