shinylizard - 06/17/04 Stone & Brad at the Croc Cafe in Seattle

Shawn Smith, Stone Gossard, Regan Hagar and Lonnie Marshall. And two unknown bands. Who played first. Then they introduced Sarah Weddington. A collective "WHO?" went up. The lawyer who took Roe vs Wade to the Supreme Court. She was simply an inspiring woman. Inspiring. Many jaws dropped, many people in awe. Amazing woman. She introduced Stone and Lonnie. You all love Stone, you should love Lonnie too, even though he looks like Bozo the Clown (from Vic, not me). Lonnie on guitar and vocals, Stone on drums (he's gotten much better). Then buddies. Stone sang off "Every Family" off Bayleaf. He seemed thrilled that people were singing along. Then Ty came out and sang "Cadillac". Then Shawn came out with friends and sang his stuff. It just kept getting better and better, like Christmas or lottery. So glorious. Then they all came out and played Brad stuff with Lonnie on bass. They need to kick whoever is playing bass with Brad this week out and get Lonnie. Ended with Lonnie on bass matching Stone's guitar riff, which sounded way cool, while Shawn sang Battleflag over all of it. They were very tight, and obviously having the time of their lives. People had their mouths hanging open, it was that good (and that hot on the floor). Easily one of the best shows I've ever been to.
