Victor - CCFA Benefit at the Showbox - May 14, 2004

Hey all,
here's my review:

Managed to get front row center with 2 other very nice PJ/Brad fans (Shareen and Florence). The performers were:

Vast Capital
Eddie Vedder (joined later by McCready and Gossard)
Brad
McCready & Friends
Left Hand Smoke

Not a very well-kept surprise, EV showed up and I managed to meet him and get an autograph outside. Eddie did a short solo set:
Parting Ways
Man of the Hour
The Seeker [The Who]
Porch (kicked azz!)
Yellow Ledbetter (w/ McCready on electric and Gossard on acoustic...Eddie was on drums and vocals! The outro was very punky.)
Afterwards, Eddie handed me his setlist, which (sarcasm intact) listed 3 of the songs as "Whatever I feel like (playing)".

Brad did a short set, including 2 new songs: "Bless Me Father" (slow, R&B-ish) and "Low" (very funky with Stone on bass, Berg on keys, and no guitar). I think this will become the new "20th Century" for fans!...afterwards I managed to snag Shawn's setlist. Songs were:
Bless me father
Buttercup
Brothers and Sisters
Low
The Day Brings (Shawn solo)

McCready & Friends was great as well: REALLY rockin' and Mike was his usual showman self, full of energy and running around like a kid on pure sugar. I gave him the rock'n'roll devil horns and he threw me a guitar pick, so that was very cool.
Songs were:
Doctor Doctor
Lights Out
Too Hot To Handle
Shoot Shoot
Loser
Rock Bottom
Sick as a Dog [Aerosmith]
Nobody's Fault [Aerosmith]

Great show for a great cause (Crohn's and Colitis Foundation). I was lucky enough to meet Stoney walking his dog, Shawn Smith arriving late, Mike Berg walking about, and Regan Hagar after the show. Everyone was super nice, and the show was amazing!
